Vegetable Salad
Composed in 2002 for the vocal quartet Sine Nomine and then adapted for the mixed choirs Arcadia and Tonos Humanos.
The title of this work is a parody to salads created by Spanish composers of the XVI century. These were songs written in verse and in different languages or dialects and mixed religious and secular genres. Its main exponent is Mateo Flecha.
This Vegetable Salad is a recipe for four people found in a cookbook.
Vegetable Salad
INGREDIENTS
Half a kilogram of broccoli,
Half a kilogram of cauliflower,
A quarter of a kilo of carrots,
A quarter of a kilo of cucumbers,
Four cloves of garlic,
Two medium sized onions,
Oil, vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper.
PREPARATION
First step:
Cook the cauliflower and the broccoli
Separately for 30 minutes
Second step:
Slice the carrots, cucumbers
And onions.
Third step:
Dice the garlic cloves.
Fourth step:
Prepare a sauce with oil, vinegar, mustard, salt
And pepper.
Fifth step:
Serve cold, accompanied with sauce.
Compuesta en 2002 para el cuarteto vocal Sine Nomine y luego adaptada para los coros mixto Arcadia y Tonos Humanos.
El título de esta obra, es una parodia a las ensaladas creadas por los compositores españoles del siglo XVI. Estas eran canciones escritas en verso y en diferentes lenguas o dialectos en las que se mezclaban los géneros religioso y profano. Su principal exponente, Mateo Flecha.
Esta Ensalada de Verduras es una receta para cuatro personas que encontré en un recetario de mi madre.
