The Hot Blog Tips crew discuss creating mega-posts or pages that will be updated on our blogs on a regular bases. Creating these posts with the mindset that they will be a big deal on our blogs and will become very authoritative posts. The fact that the posts will up updated on a regular bases will keep the content fresh and up to date. This should be reflected in the search results as well, bringing in more search traffic.
Just to be clear, this is about creating special posts such as guides or popular how-to posts that will service readers and searchers long term. I am NOT referring to updating every older post on our blogs; although that wouldn't be a bad idea to.
